Kit includes DFI board assembly, DFI housing, mounting screws, Pinch Detectors. Take the screws out of the bottom of the base. Unplug the wire from each pinch bar and remove the bars from the plastic slots. Now take some pliers, tin snips, or whatever you have laying around and cut a clean, non-corroded piece of the pinch bar off so you have a small piece of metal. If you're going to bypass both the bonnet and the pinch ...OK, clean the pinch contacts and make certain you get the the tips of the contacts as well, use steel wool, 3M pad, whatever will knock off the corrosion and allow proper continuity. Then once reassembled, use some dielectric grease to encapsulate the contact points of the pinch detect switch, glob it on thick, (see pic below).Reassemble the globe, bonnet, and waste drawer. Plug the unit in, turn it on, and let the initial clean cycle finish. The globe should return to the Home position with the blue ready light on. If your unit does not cycle or does not cycle properly, review your installation. Purchase Litter-Robot 3 Pinch Contact & DFI Kit.Litter-Robot 3 is equipped with infrared emitters and sensors located above the Waste Drawer that check if the drawer is full each time the Globe returns to the Home position. Once a full Waste Drawer is detected, the unit will indicate it is full with a blue flashing light. That Blue flash followed by the rapid Yellow flash is indicative of a failure in the Drawer Full Indicators and Pinch Detect Terminals.
